• 7E Interview with Director Julia Tsao
Field is an HTML5 audiovisual experimental website inspired by Nike’s Fuel Band.  Directed by Julia Tsao and music by Nosaj Thing, the website allows users to interact with sound and images when using the keyboard.
Here are a few questions about the project:
How did you first meet/collaborate with Nosaj Thing (Jason Chung)?
We met years ago and have worked on a lot of different projects together since - album artwork, his visual shows - we’ve toured a lot together doing shows - and most recently this Nike project for Fuel.

What was the collaboration process with the various programmers and how long from start to finish?
Took about 6 weeks from start to finish.

Did you work remotely?  If so, what forms of communication did you use?  (i.e., storyboards via email, web, Skype, etc?) The project was almost entirely remote - developers were in Seattle and Stockholm, the Dazed Digital team was in London and Nosaj and I were in LA.We love its minimalist LED look.  Terry thinks it reminds him of the 2005 Yamaha Tenori-On.  (The site requires Google Chrome.)
